Jim Steinman, who has written such international hits as ?Total Eclipse of the Heart?, composed the musical and the libretto was written by Michael Kunze.
PS Produkcio, under the direction of Edit Simon, has been preparing for the Hungarian premiere of the musical for two years. The production team includes director Cornelius Baltus,who has worked with Polanski at almost every premiere of the musical, choreographer Dennis Callahan from New York?s Radio Hall, and the renowned Hungarian stage and costume designer Kentaur. The libretto will be translated and adapted by Tibor Miklós.
Last week, Polanski reviewed the plans for the production, including the set design; then he discussed the musical scene by scene. He said Kentaur?s work was exciting and unique, different from past stage designs for the musical.
The cast for the musical has already been chosen. ?Dance of the Vampires? will be staged by the Hungarian Theatre of Pest.
