The dance faculty of the university introduced in the 2002/2003 academic year a new curriculum, created by Ladányi, which exposes people who have never had any formal training to a broad range of dance and movement, including Thai Chi, juggling, jazz-funk, strength exercises, rhythmic folk dance, historical partner dance, contact fighting, Latin dance, fencing and stage movement. Three elements of the programme ? Thai Chi, stage fencing and rhythmic dance ? will feature at this year?s movement workshop, to be held in Szeged, in southeast Hungary, on July 18?22.
The workshop will take place at the same time as Szeged?s combined 16th THEALTER International theatre festival, which presents a broad range of foreign productions, and the Alternative Theatre Festival, which shows the best alternative Hungarian theatre and dance productions.
The price of the course is HUF 15,000 per person. Dormitory lodging is also available at HUF 2,500 per person per night. Travel expenses and food are not provided, although participants will enjoy a 20 percent discount at the Festival restaurant. The deadline for application is June 30, 2006.
