The institute plans to bring many Danish performers, such as the Royal Ballet, to the festival, which will require it to work more closely with - and in closer proximity too - the festival's organisers, Danish Cultural Institute (Kecskemét) director Hanne Tornoe said. He added that the institute would continue to be based in Kecskemét.
Tornoe noted that the institute had received many queries from Danish musicians interested in performing in Hungary.
In addition to the institute's participation with the organisers of the Budapest Spring Festival, it plans to present six films showing the best of Danish filmmakers at European Film Week, to take place in Budapest in the autumn.
