Sculptors will have the chance to simultaneously transform crystal-clear 115kg blocks of ice, measuring 100cm by 50cm by 25cm, into works of art in a period of 8-9 hours.
The city plans a year-end celebration on December 30 and 31. Karthago will perform on Kossuth Square at 7pm on December 30. On the 31st a variety show will start on a stage in front of the main church at 7pm and run until 2am.
Visitors can welcome in the new year with the singing of the Hungarian National Hymn at midnight, after which fireworks will take place.
