Pataki's plan was the best of four submitted for evaluation by a jury.

Pataki has incorporated Hungarian folk motifs into her design and called it Shadoof, after the counterpoise-lift used to draw water that can be seen in many places on the Hungarian plain.

The garden designed by Pataki will be supported with a grant from the Dordogne County Council of EUR 14,000. The garden will be open from June 15 until September 15, 2010.

The Francois Mitterrand Cultural Centre is the home to a number of unique gardens, including one dedicated to weeks and another that presents famous sites in Slovakia.
