DJ Krush Returns to Hungary

English

Hideaki Ishi, aka DJ Krush, is considered to be among the great magicians of electronic music, and one of the few DJs - among them Amon Tobin and Matthew Herbert - to break out of the subculture and become a trend-setter.

DJ Krush's style is based on hip-hop and chill-out mixed with complicated rhythms. He blends jazzy, breakbeat and drum and bass elements into his mixes, creating a unique and refined unworldly texture of sounds. Krush is a meditative DJ, whose music is also deeply rooted in the traditions of Japanese Buddhism, as reflected in the title of one of his albums: Zen.

As a DJ and producer, DJ Krush quickly gained fame on the international scene, participating in projects with a range of stars from Zap Mama to Guru. One of his greatest cooperative achievements was a double concert-remix album with Coldcut entitled Back in the Base. The album has become a milestone in the history of abstract hip-hop.

DJ Krush recently launched a 3-DVD retrospective of his work and is promoting it with a world tour.

He will play in Budapest on the A38 ship, where he last performed in 2004.
