Eighteen actors from 16 theatre companies will perform monodramas - plays for one performer - during the five-day festival, said festival spokeswoman Csenge Pilisy. Ildikó Pécsi will present her monodrama Suitcases and My Life Inside. Judit Pogány will perform István Vajda's play But I was a Good Mother. Kinga Saárossy will present the monodrama Alone, inspired by the life of Edit Domján and featuring songs by György Nagy Aldobolyi.
Among the foreign troupes to be represented are ones from Cheb in the Czech Republic, Lodz in Poland and Levice in Slovakia. The Áron Tamási Theatre from Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania, will perform the monodrama Julia.
In addition to the monodramas, six well-known songwriters will also perform at the festival. They are Ferenc Mándoki, János Másik, Hobó, the duo András Lovas and Gábor Leskovics, and Tibor Kiss from the band Quimby.
