The play features a cast of 30, playing chefs and waiters, who never leave the stage during the entire production, says Máté. He adds that Wesker based the play on his own experiences working in a restaurant in London.

Smaller casts will be on the programme in Eger in just a few weeks. The city's Gárdonyi Géza Theatre will host a monodrama festival as part of the Spring Festival of Eger between March 27 and 31.

Actors from Hungary and abroad will perform 23 monodramas - plays for one performer - during the five-day festival. Ildikó Pécsi will present her monodrama Suitcases and My Life Inside. Judit Pogány will perform István Vajda's play But I was a Good Mother. Kinga Saárossy will present the monodrama Alone, inspired by the life of Edit Domján and featuring songs by György Nagy Aldobolyi.

The festival will open with a performance of András Nagy's Camille by Erika Nádasy. The play is based on the life of Camille Claudel, the muse and model for the sculptor Auguste Rodin.

Among the foreign troupes to be represented are ones from Cheb in the Czech Republic, Lodz in Poland and Levice in Slovakia. The Áron Tamási Theatre from Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania, will perform the monodrama Julia.

In addition to the monodramas, six well-known songwriters will also perform at the festival. They are Ferenc Mándoki, János Másik, Hobó, the duo András Lovas and Gábor Leskovics, and Tibor Kiss from the band Quimby.
