The eight bands were picked by a jury of music professionals from 40 acts that performed over four Sundays on the A38. They will compete in the four-round finals in Vienna in the spring.
The Austrian Band Contest has provided a showcase for new talent for more than twenty years. The Hungarian qualifying round has become increasingly diverse and now includes performances by rock, metal, folk, fusion, pop and ska bands.
Last year's finalists for the Becherovka ABC Talent Search were Angeldust, Casketgarden, Folk Error, Fugato Orchestra, Locust On The Saddle, Manikin Faint, Sammy Sosa Band, Yellow Spots.
