eMeRTon Winners Announced

English

The eMeRTon award for life achievement was granted to conductor Lajos Bolba, who established the award in 1986, when he headed the broadcaster?s entertainment and musical department. Bolba aimed to honour performers and musicians outside of the classical genre, recognising people from a broad range of backgrounds, including rock, pop, folk and musical theatre. Since its inception, 247 musicians have been presented with the award.

A professional jury of Hungarian Radio music editors chose eleven winners this year on the basis of their work in 2005. The winners will be officially recognised at a ceremony on November 19 to be broadcast live by Petőfi Radio. The event will feature performances as well, including one by Studio 11, led by Péter Wolf.
