?Ai Weiwei in New York. Photographs 1983-1993? contains 227 images selected by the artist himself.

During his ten years in New York?s bohemian East Village Ai Weiwei took more than 10,000 photographs of himself, the city and its inhabitants. The images document the important as well as the banal.

Ai Weiwei has since become one of the best known contemporary artists in the world, working as an architect, a conceptual artist, a sculptor, a photographer and a blogger.

The exhibition, which has shown in Berlin?s Martin Gropius Bau and in the Media Center in Moscow, can be seen in the Ernst Museum?s building in Nagymező utca until October 21.
