State secretary for the coordination of development policy Ágnes Molnár visited the palace early in January to see the progress of the 3.5 billion forint project.
She said the government would provide further support for the palace?s renovation from the New Széchenyi Plan. She added that the government wanted to establish a music training centre in the palace that would be worthy of the heritage of Joseph Haydn, who spent some of his best years in the Esterházy court.
The almost 250-year-old Esterházy Palace draws some 90,000 visitors a year. The renovation is expected to bring more people to the historical site and to the Fertő-Hanság National Park.
