The plaque pays tribute not only to Esterházy, but to all of those who perished in prison because of their opposition to the regime.
?We respect János Esterházy primarily because he voted against the deportation of the Jews in the Slovak parliament during WWII,? said Nadezda Kavalirova, president of the Confederation of Political Prisoners, which is renovating the memorial.
