The councils of Vas and Zala counties have supported the cultural life of the Hungarian minority in Slovenia's Pomurska region with HUF 5-7 million a year, said Majthényi. "Thanks to good cooperation, we have won an EU grant of HUF 100 million over three years, which is a sign of the value of our earlier work together."

The councils of Vas and Zala counties, the counties' museum directors and representatives of the Hungarian minority in Pomurska will work together on a project called "Values of our shared past - living heritage". It will involve dual-language camps, the preparation of local histories and the documentation of the region's folk heritage, said project manager István Kutszegi.
