Mehes was selected to represent Hungary in the 140-strong ECP at the recommendation of Estonian and Belarusian deputies. He will work in the body, which covers 40 European countries, together with personalities such as philosopher Umberto Eco and former Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio.
The ECP was initiated in 2001, to co-ordinate and promote cultural efforts and new ideas throughout the continent.
