The leaders from all three future European Capitals of Culture expressed their commitment to establishing a cooperation that will strengthen their programmes and ensure a successful year in 2010, artistic director of Pécs's European Capital of Culture 2010 programme Márton Méhes said.
The agreement involves exchanges of artists and journalists. It also creates a number of scholarships for young and disabled artists.
A project involving photographers from each of the cities will culminated in a digital and print catalogue of images of Istanbul, Essen and Pécs.
Planning for 2010 is going equally well in all three cities, Méhes said.
