The European Jazz Bridge?s organisers took the idea for the event from last year?s Concert of Joy, a hugely successful event at which Hungary?s best jazz artists played to an audience from a stage floating in the Danube.
The Jazz Bridge aims to start a tradition in the spirit of the Concert of Joy. During the one-day event, concerts will take place on a stage at Clark Ádám Square on the Pest side of the Chain Bridge, and in the Jövő Háza theatre, near Moszkva Square in Buda.
The programme at the stage in Clark Ádám Square will run from 11:00am until 10:00pm, and concerts will take place at the Jövő Háza theatre from 2:00pm until 10:00pm. When the concerts finish, the musicians will be invited to play at jam sessions at the Columbus Jazz Club and the Jövő Háza theatre.
Performers at the event will include the Modern Art Orchestra, the Central-European Creative Jazz Workshop, the Tamás Berki Band, the Borbély Workshop, the Szakcsi Jr Trio, the Kaltenecker Trio, Contemporary Gregorian, the Kálmán Oláh Trio, the Babos Project Special, the Hat Ok, Norwegian saxophonist Terje Isungset, the Southern Plains Saxophone Group, Zoltán Lantos?s Mirrorworld and the Dutch group Tobias Delius 4tet with István Grencsó.
