Hungary?s Minister of Culture András Bozóki signed on Friday an agreement with Director General of the Cultural Ministry of the Autonomous Catalan Community Francesc Tarrats Bou on preparations for the exhibition, to be called ?Hungary, So Far but Still Close?.
The exhibition will show the relationships between the culture of nobility in Hungary and Catalonia during the time of James I of Aragon (1208-1276) and Yolande of Hungary 1216? ? 1251), daughter of Andrew II and half-sister of Saint Elisabeth. It will also offer a picture of the period?s historic and economic trends.
The exhibition will open in Barcelona in March, 2008, then travel to Budapest?s National Museum after three months. Some EUR 800,000 has been allocated for the exhibition, to be covered in equal part by both parties.
