(MTI) - Veto said that 35,000 weekly tickets -- valid for the entire festival -- had been sold in advance, 26-28,000 of which were purchased abroad. She noted that the majority of daily tickets for last year's festival had been sold on the spot, and added that so far twice as many of those had been sold as in 2007.
For Sziget 2008, the capacity has been increased from a daily 65,000 visitors to 70,000, the press chief said.
Budapest Airport, the company operating Budapest's international airport, expects a total of 20,000 foreign visitors to arrive by air. Representatives of the company told MTI that approximately one third of foreign Sziget-goers flew in each year, typically arriving on the first day of the festival or the day before.
