Finnish Cultural Centre Hosts Joint Exhibition

English

In the exhibition, entitled ?Merkkejä ? Signs?, Reiman shows a series of oil paintings called ?Landscape Inside? which mix landscapes with abstract images in an effort to interpret the unconscious map of the soul. Várnagy shows her metal sculptures, which take the shape of symbols for man, woman, emotion, pain and slavery. While many of the symbols are readily identifiable ? a heart for emotion, bars for slavery ? some are more complicated and require visitors to use their own imagination to find associations.

Reiman and Várnagy previously showed their works together at an exhibition at Helsinki?s Hungarian Culture and Science Centre in 2004.

Várnagy received the Munkácsy Award, one of Hungary?s highest awards for artists, in 1991.

Finnagora is located at Dózsa György út 84/a in Budapest?s District VI. It is open every day except for Monday from 09:00 until 17:00.
