The cause of the fire is being investigated and the damages assessed.
Mafilm staff were alerted of the fire by the studio?s state-of-the-art alarm system and notified the local fire brigade, which arrived within minutes. The fire fighters soon extinguished the blaze at the 1,000-square-metre Huszárik Studio, but the roof and walls of the structure still suffered significant damage. Sets built for a production being shot at the studio were also destroyed. Mafilm?s management is in talks with the production?s producers to find a way to keep shooting on schedule, in spite of the loss.
Mafilm said its insurance will cover the damages.
Four foreign film productions are currently using the Mafilm studios in Fót.
