Antal made a name for himself with the excellent Hungarian film Kontroll in 2003. His first US production, Vacancy, came out in 2007. Though Vacancy enjoyed only modest success at the box office, it did break even, so producer Screen Gems decided to sign a contract with Antal for a second film.
The story for Armored, written by James V. Simpson, centres on a security guard at an armoured truck company who is coerced by his co-workers to steal a truck with USD 10 million.
