The show features 26 of Farkas?s statutes and Hervé?s images of 15 of the pieces.
The two artists never met, although Farkas worked in Paris in 1937-39 and their ?approach to life and sense of humour were very similar,? said Farkas?s daughter Luca Farkas.
Luca Farkas met Hervé two years after her father?s death in 1981 and invited him to photograph her father?s work.
Farkas, born in Budapest in 1909, studied under the sculptor Pál Pátzay from 1929. He was a member of the resistance in World War II.
Hervé was born László Elkán in the Hungarian city of Hódmezővásárhely in 1910. He made his name as the photographer for the architect Le Corbusier.
Before the exhibition opens, director of the Hungarian National Gallery György Szűcs, director of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Art History Research Institute László Beke and the art historian Imola Gebauer will hold a talk about Farkas?s work, moderated by art the historian Judit Faludy.
The exhibition will be opened by French Institute director Francois Laquiéze.
