(MTI) - The Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques was presented on behalf of French Prime Minister Francois Fillon to Eniko Sepsi, the newly-elected dean of the Gaspar Karoli University in Budapest and Levente Selaf, a lecturer at Lorant Eotvos University in Budapest.
Both awardees were honoured for their achievements in Hungarian-French relations, especially in the area of education and science.
Sepsi has worked extensively for adopting modern French poetry to the French university curriculum in Hungary as well as for organising talent points for French studies. Selaf took a doctorate in 2003 in Mediaeval French and Provencal religious songs and has lectured at ELTE university since 2004. He organised a meeting between famous writers Peter Esterhazy of Hungary and Jacques Roubaud of France.
