English

 Miljenko Jergovic

Jergovic will speak with Horváth about his book Turkish Mirror, which gives an account of the siege of the Hungarian city of Eger by the Turks in 1552, much like the Hungarian classic Eclipse of the Crescent Moon by Géza Gárdonyi, but from the point of view of the Turks.

The event will follow talks by writers from Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Romania in the series. At the next event in the series, on February 24, the Russian writer Jevgeny Popov will speak with the Hungarian Endre Kukorelly.

Jergovic's novel Ruta Tannenbaum, about the Holocaust in Croatia, will be published in Hungarian on International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
