The invitation is for a performance in November 2009, when the Joyce Theatre plans a special programme to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism in Europe.
The director of the Joyce Theatre saw the troupe perform Gaudi, which is inspired by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, at the 6th Hungarian Dance Festival at the end of June.
Győr Ballet director János Kiss said Gaudi is a very challenging work that requires the troupe to move in ways they never had before.
The Győr Ballet performed at the Joyce Theatre once before, in 2002, bringing its production Purim.
The Győr Ballet will bring Gaudi to Budapest this autumn.
At an end-of-season meeting of the ballet on Wednesday, the dancer William Formin was made a life-long member of the troupe.
