Organisers from the Austrian state of Burgenland approached the Győr Ballet last year with the idea of creating a joint production with Austria?s Joseph Haydn Orchestra and the Slovak National Choir, Győr Ballet director János Kiss said. The production, which is funded in part with money from the EU and the state of Burgenland, will tour Slovakia and Hungary next year, he added.
The three groups of artists from neighbouring countries wish to continue to work together in future and apply jointly for funding, Kiss said, noting that further cooperation would depend on the audience?s reception of the upcoming production.
