The exhibition, which marked the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and Japan, attracted 400,000 people in Tokyo between September 25 and December 14, 2009, and 250,000 people in Kyoto between January 5 and March 14, 2010.
The exhibition featured 113 works of art, including 24 from the Museum of Fine Arts, by the likes of Rafael, Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Dürer, Cranach, Van Dyck, Greco and Velázquez.
