The award is presented by the Hungarian Moving Picture Foundation on the recommendation of the Hungarian Association of Film Artists and the Hungarian Directors' Guild.
The awards will be presented by Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller and president of the Hungarian Moving Picture Foundation Ferenc Grunwalsky at the opening ceremony of the 38th Magyar Filmszemle, Hungary's most important film festival. The festival will take place between January 30 and February 6 at venues including the House of Future Centre, the Palace Mammut Cinema and the Urania National Film Theatre.
The festival's jury has chosen 17 feature films, 40 documentaries, 30 shorts and nine informational films to participate in the competition. The jury notes that Gábor Dettre's film "Romazsaru" is no longer in the competition. As a result the number of feature films has been reduced from 18.
The 38th Magyar Filmszemle will open with a screening of Pál Sándor's "Noah's Ark".
