Hungary?s Association for the Protection of Cities and Villages launched the ?Children for the Protection of the Built and Natural Environment? competition fourteen years ago.
The competition, which involves youth between the ages of 10 and 18, aims to encourage and prepare contestants to preserve cities and villages, discover and preserve lesser-known environmental treasures, and develop a respectful attitude towards these treasures.
The Budapest Historical Museum will host an awards ceremony for the winners of this year?s competition at 11:00am on Saturday, May 6, and the exhibition itself will be opened by parliamentary speaker Katalin Szili.
The Ministry of National Cultural Heritage has published an album entitled ?Children for the Built and Natural Environment, 2002-2005? featuring works from previous exhibitions, with a foreword by Mihály Ráday and Mrs. Klára Kiss Pinczés
