The local council recently announced the ?Adopt a Storefront Window? competition to support the creative activities of young artists and organisations with a view to improving the appearance of the city. With graphic artist Judit Beck?s application, the Holocaust Memorial Center has won the right to decorate a shop window at Kossuth Lajos utca 14-16.
The storefront window, to be prepared with the cooperation of photographer Viktória Gálos and display artist Réka Szekeres, will evoke that period during Hungary?s history when Jews and Roma were denied their rights, their dignity and their lives. The display will be up for twelve weeks.
