The film, to be directed by first-timer Maria de Kannon Clé, will start shooting in Madrid in May.

The Hungarian actor Lajos Kovács will also have a role in the film, and an unnamed Hungarian will be the film's cinematographer.
Actors in other supporting roles include Ángela Molina (Cet obscur objet du désir) and Albert Dupontel (A Very Long Engagement).
My Sweet Stranger will have a budget of USD 2.3 million.
