Hungarian-Austrian Exhibition to Open in Japan

The Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunsthistorisches Museum have collaborated to present the exhibition entitled Treasures of the Habsburg Monarchy - 140th Jubilee of the Friendship Treaty between Austria-Hungary and Japan. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic ties between Hungary and Japan.

 
The exhibition, organised by Jomiuri Sinbun, will feature 113 works of art, including 24 from the Museum of Fine Arts, by the likes of Rafael, Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Dürer, Cranach, Van Dyck, Greco and Velázquez. The National Art Center in Tokyo will host the exhibition between September 25 and December 14. It will be shown in the National Museum in Kyoto from January 5 until March 14, 2010.
