Thousands of festival goers demanded an encore at the end of a performance by Yava, which has Turkish and Indonesian, as well as Hungarian, influences.

Yava was formed by Dus Polett and Ádám Mestyán in 2001. Polett brought with her years of experience living in Indonesia, where she learned the local folk music techniques. Mestyán, who studied Arabic at university, contributed his experience living in North Africa and Kuwait. The band was joined by the minstrel and lyre player Szabolcs Róka in 2002 and by the all-round musician Fritz László Németh in 2004.

Yava will release its first CD in October. It plans a tour in the autumn.
