Domonkos Héja

Héja conducted Liszt's Les Preludes and Piano Concerto in A Major performed by Hüsseyn Sermet as well as Béla Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra. The concerts took place at Milan's Auditorium, a former cinema converted into a concert hall in 1999.

Héja has conducted the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra before, though never in Milan. The orchestra has invited him to return in the 2009/2010 season to conduct Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle.

Among the conductors the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra will work with this year are Neville Marriner, Leonard Slatkin, Helmut Rilling and Jurij Basmet.

The orchestra visited Hungary in May 2005.
