Hungarian Conductor, Pianist Take Stage in Moscow

On the programme were Schumann?s Overture, scherzo, and finale, op. 53, and Symphony No. 2, as well as Bartók?s Piano Concerto No. 3.
 
Várjon said it was a pleasure to play the Bartók with Hamar, adding that the piece was a new one for the orchestra.
 
Várjon noted that he was playing in Moscow for the first time and had never been to the city before. Várjon praised the audience and said the acoustics of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall were remarkable.
 
Hamar, who also took the stage in Moscow for the first time, said he had not worked with Várjon for some time, but added that both understood each other immediately in rehearsals because of their shared musical education in Hungary.
