Hungarian Filmmakers Compete in Krakow

The Prayer

Sándor Mohi's The Prayer and Márton Szirmai's The Sinking Village are in competition in the short film section.

 
The Prayer, which follows an old couple in rural Hungary for their last five years of life, recently won the top prize at the Symbiosis festival in Esztergom. Mohi will attend the screening in Krakow, which will be the film's foreign premiere.

The Sinking Village

The Sinking Village examines the reactions of Hungarian villagers when they realise their village is sinking.

 
In the feature-length documentary programme is Péter Forgács's film I Am Von Höfler, about a generation of tanners in the city of Pécs. The film will compete with 11 others on the programme.
 
The Hungarian director András Salamon's documentary The Rhythm of the City will be screened as part of the information programme.
