Ten Hungarian films were to be shown in ten Polish cities this year (up from nine cities in 2007), but budget restrictions narrowed the venues to four in the end: Krakow, Cieszyn, Poznan and Katowice.
On the festival programme are the features Iszka's Journey (Iszka utazása, directed by Csaba Bollók), Opium (directed by János Szász), Freedom and Love (Szabadság, szerelem, directed by Krisztina Goda), Happy New Life (Boldog új élet, directed by Árpád Bogdán) and Konyec (directed by Gábor Rohonyi). The shorts to be shown include Lifeline (Életvonal, directed by Tomek Ducki), Apple (Az alma, directed by Mihály Schwechtje), Trauma (Csapás, directed by Declan Hannigan), Patience (Türelem, directed by László Nemes Jeles) and Together (Együtt, directed by Dénes Nagy).
The festival, which kicked off in Krakow on Friday, will host special guests Csaba Bollók, who directed Iszka's Journey, and Ágnes Csere, who produced and acted in the film. Another guest will be Lifeline director Tomek Ducki.
