The exhibition features mummified human and animal remains from 20 museums in seven countries. Among them is the ?Detmold Child?, who died some 6,500 years ago in what is today Peru.
From Hungary has come the Orlovits family: Mihály Orlovits, his wife Veronika Skripetz and one of their children, János Orlovits, who died when he was just six months old. The mummified remains of the infant are in the last room of the exhibition, like a crown for the entire collection.
Ildikó Pap and Ildikó Szikossy accompanied the mummies to the United States, where their story has been the subject of reports in the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and a number of television and radio programmes.
