In the book, Dragoman (35) presents life in the late Ceausescu-era Romania through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy.
It has been translated into 20 languages since it was published in 2005 and also received positive reviews from The Washington Post and The New York Times, which described it as a "scathing portrait of life in a totalitarian society."
The ORF July book list comprises 10 works, including new novels by Margaret Atwood, Robert Neumann and Thomas Pynchon.
