The millionth visitor was Yiwen Hong, a young girl who arrived in the afternoon with her family.
Deputy-director of the Hungarian pavilion Katalin Szöllősi and deputy-commissioner Richárd Mohr welcomed the young girl and her family, who have been offered the chance to visit Budapest.
The Hungarian Pavilion became the twelfth of 42 at the World Expo to draw one million visitors. The French Pavilion has attracted the most visitors at the fair since it opened on May 1, drawing more than two million.
At the centre of the pavilion is the Gömböc (pronounced 'goemboets'), a self-righting object created by two Hungarian inventors. The Gömböc rights itself when in stable equilibrium, much like a roly-poly toy, but because of its shape, not because of its weight. The Gömböc is thus the first known homogenous object with one stable and one unstable equilibrium point.
