The two-week project is underway in the cities of Ufa and Oktyabrsky in the Republic of Bashkortostan, said team member János Havasi.
The team met with representatives of Volga Germans deported to the region in 1941 as well as with the son of a Hungarian prisoner of war.
One of the team?s members, the journalist János Jurkovics from Szeged, discovered the grave of his grandfather in Nizhny Tagil, western Siberia.
The team?s work is being documented by staff from Hungary?s public media.
