English

The film will be screened on August 28.

The 20-minute short took the main short film prize at the 42nd Hungarian Film Festival. It was also screened in Cannes on the Directors? Fortnight programme.

The film shows ?a not very affluent Hungarian farmer who lords over his wife, children and his hired slave. Cut off from the rest of the world on a distant farm in the Great Plains, he tries to uphold a family ideal he formulated from rigid traditions. The close-knit, albeit extreme, human relations sweep these characters towards tragedy,? says filmunio.hu.

The short will show in Hungarian cinemas in three weeks.
