Balint Kenyeres
's 15-minute costume film, set in Normandy in 1905, was the first Hungarian title to win main prize at the prestigious festival in Portugal's Vila de Conde last year, and awards at other international festivals, the union said.
The film made in Hungarian-French coproduction will be shown at upcoming festivals in Barcelona, Atlanta, Honolulu and Bucharest.
At this year's festival in Canada altogether 150 productions were screened.
