Marton was presented the award in recognition of her outstanding operatic career and the active role she plays in training future generations of foreign and Hungarian singers.
Marton is a department head at Budapest?s Liszt Academy of Music.
Marton has a number of engagements aboard before the end of the year. She will sing works by Puccini, Ponchiella and Wagner at a gala concert at the Bratislava National Theatre. She has been invited by the Geneva Opera House to sing Klytaemnestra in Elektra six times in November, and she will head a jury of opera singers at the Viotti International Singing Competition in Italy in December.
