István Jónás, CEO of public broadcaster Magyar Rádió, recalled a similar initiative with the cooperation of Gypsy musicians in 1925. Listeners can only be rewarded by hearing new renderings of popular songs, he added.

Sándor Balogh, who is in charge of putting the popular artists and the orchestra in sync, said classical musicians generally like participating in such projects, citing experience with one earlier such programme with the Berlin Philharmonic.
