Hungarian State Opera Performs in Finland

The opera, conducted by Balázs Kocsár, has brought productions of Kodály?s Psalmus Hungaricus, Bartók?s Bluebeard?s Castle and Verdi?s Don Carlos to Finland. Three of the opera?s five scheduled performances have been well reviewed in the local press.
 
Don Carlos features István Rácz, Kolos Kováts, Eszter Sümegi, Ildikó Cserna, Attila Fekete, Atilla B. Kiss, Anatolij Fokanov, Tamás Busa, Bernadett Wiedemann, Éva Pánczél, András Palerdi, László Szvétek, László Kiss Beöthy, Krisztina Simon, Ferenc Valter and Ingrid Kertesi. Bluebeard?s Castle features Gábor Bretz and Andrea Meláth and the soloist for Psalmus Hungaricus is Attila Fekete.  
 
The Savonlinna Opera Festival was founded by the Finnish soprano Aino Ackté and takes place in a stone fortress built in 1475. The festival will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
