The opera brought the production to Oman?s capital, Muscat, as the result of an earlier meeting between Csaba Káel, who directed the original production in 2002, and the pianist Ahmed Abou-zahra, an advisor to the Royal Opera House Muscat. Káel, who is now director of Budapest?s Palace of Arts (MUPA), discussed the artistic cooperation with Abou-zahra, who studied piano at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, at an international conference.
Elena Mosuc sang the role of Konstanze, Rita Rácz sang Blonde, Kurt Rydl was Ozmin, Rainer Trost Belmonte and Péter Balczó Pedrillo.
Káel said that, according to a Hungarian cultural attaché who attended the performance, the ovation the company received was extraordinary.
