The "Europe Prize - New Theatrical Realities" prize was awarded to five directors this year, including Arpad Schilling, Mate Gaspar said. Schilling was the first Hungarian to receive this prize, as an "artist, who...constantly questions and searches the limits of theatrical expressions".
The jury awards the special prize annually to artists and companies who enrich Europe's theatrical culture with outstanding quality innovative works, on the basis of the recommendation of 300 theatrical experts.
