Péter Esterházy will present his new novel Nothing Is Art at the Burgtheater during Lesefestewoche, which will take place between November 17 and 23. Berlin Verlag will publish the novel in German in the spring of 2009. Krisztián Grecsó will read excerpts from his first book Welcome, published in 2005, and György Dalos, who lives in Berlin, will attend the debate forum 1989 and Its Consequences.
Other notable writers who will participate in the Lesefestewoche programme are the Bulgarian writer Ilija Trojanov, who lives in Vienna and will give the opening speech of the event, the Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, the German writer Elke Heidenreich, the American-Italian crime writer Donna Leon, and the Booker Prize-winning Irish author Anne Enright.
Buch Wien, organised by Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien in cooperation with the Austrian Book Trade Association, will host about 200 publishers from Austria and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe on November 20-23.
